Decibel Strategies is brought to you by Dave Bloom, a veteran speechwriter and communications strategist.
For more than a decade, Dave has worked with business executives, philanthropists, progressive advocates, and government officials to weave their stories, values, and insights into messages that resonate. His words have been published in outlets like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Politico, and CNN. He’s penned speeches delivered at SXSW, CES, CERAWeek, California Democratic Party conventions, United Nations Climate Change Conferences, and the White House Press Briefing Room. He’s even had a hand in researching and writing a few books.
As chief speechwriter to U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm, Dave helped the Biden-Harris administration articulate its plans for the energy sector and commitment to American-led science and innovation. Those efforts supported the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. Before his time at the U.S. Department of Energy, Dave served as senior speechwriter and communications specialist under the first independently elected Attorney General for the District of Columbia, Karl Racine. His career began with a five-year stint at West Wing Writers, a speechwriting and strategy firm.
Now, with Decibel Strategies, Dave collaborates with and advises leaders accelerating the clean energy transition.
Dave graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Political Science. He hails from Miami, Florida and lives in Washington, D.C.
